Although crafting has carried on through my entire life, there have been many increments in my development along the way. First, the "safety phase" of construction paper and crayons. Then, a bit more risk when glitter, glue and popsicle sticks were added. And woah, when I discovered hot glue, my world would never be the same! High school introduced me to more sophisticated mediums like photography, oil painting and digital media. I loved art and crafting so much, I decided to go to art to pursue my career. Although graphic design was my major, I constantly aimed to broaden my knowledge, acquiring skills in printmaking, cinematography, glass blowing, paper making, motion graphics and bookmaking, to name a few.

 

As if all those classes weren't enough, I learned how to crochet. I loaded up on hooks and yarn and started making as many scarves and hats as I could to practice. After I had it down, I was so tired of making hats and scarves, I thought I should get rid of the rest of my yarn by making something a little more interesting. To this day, I couldn't tell you what my thoughts were leading up to it, but out of what appears to be nowhere, I thought "MONSTERS! Yes, I will make monsters." And so it began...
